Overview: OSX Lion
The anticipated release of Apples new Operating system named Lion will be released within a few weeks. In July you will be able to purchase OSX Lion for $29 which will give you the ability to install the new operating system right from the app store on up to 10 different machines with the same license. With OSX Lion the Server and Client operating systems are the same, however you do need to purchase the admin server tools from the app store for $49 in order to use OSX Lion as a server. We are going to highlight some key features we are looking forward to for a full list of features check out Apples site
- New Address Book Look
- AirDrop (Ability to share files directly wirelessly)
- AutoSave (Applications now have the ability to auto save without you needing to do anything)
- Full Screen Apps (Real full screen mode online before this hits launch bar and menu bar)
- New iCal look
- Internet Restore (Lion incorporates a new repair partition separate from the OS unable the ability to repair or reinstall)
- Launchpad (is taken straight from iOS, With a gesture of your trackpad all of your application icon appear on your screen which can be managed and used just like in iOS)
- Mail (Mail has totally been overhauled with conversation views, favorite bar's widescreen layouts etc.....)
- Mission Control (this is almost like the old expose but nicer and more control)
- New Multi-Touch Gestures added
- Safari ( updated with full screen mode, download list, sandboxing and a lot more)
- Versions (with auto update your able to make use of all the updates and revert back to older versions of your document)
