Spotify teams up with Soundhound in Europe

Music Service Spotify has announced a partnership with music search company Soundhound. This deal gives Spotify Premium users access to the Soundhound music search engine. European Premium Spotify users can now load a song found on Soundhound into Spotify using the 'Play Now in Spotify' button on their mobile device, with seemless integration between the two services.

The Soundhound music search feature can help users find songs in seconds, either by typing the name, saying the name, singing the song or humming a tune. Soundhound also provides song lyrics, a discovery feature for finding new songs, various social networking options. The firms did not reveal financial details of the partnership, but the two services compliment each other so well that it's not surprising a deal was made.

Users of either service will be able to access the other immediately in Europe. It's not clear if there are plans to expand it to other regions around the world yet, But we can hope...
